Inspirations Behind the Book
This
book draws energy from a vibrant mix of influences that shaped the universe.
From the atmospheric grit of Blade Runner, to the bold systems of Cyberpunk
2020, Red, and 2077 by R. Talsorian Games, each has left a
distinct mark. The sprawling scope, philosophical edge and the rebellious
nature of the Dune series—both its novels and tabletop adaptations—also
helped carve the contours of this world. Altered Carbon didn’t just inspire
bio-shells—it helped define them. Its resleeving concept laid the groundwork
for Prosperon’s shell mechanics. Tabletop Game systems like Index Card RPG,
Freeform Universal, Neon City Overdrive, and Tomorrow City
brought mechanical elegance and narrative freedom that guided the design
choices throughout.
As
you journey through the pages, you’ll notice bits of these inspirations
lovingly scattered throughout—small nods, hidden gems, and dashes of the things
I truly admire. It’s my way of inviting you into the worlds and ideas that
shaped me as a creator.
